Public sector

Engaged with a large number of public sector bodies across Scotland, Logica is working hard to provide the skills and innovation required to better join-up public services and thereby helping to make Scotland one of the best small countries in the world.

Logica aspires to be Scottish Government's private sector partner of choice in "joining up" Government.  We work with Government in a variety of ways to do this, three examples being:

• sponsoring and participating in the Scotland-wide shared services exercise run by Holyrood Consulting during 2006
• assisting in developing and delivering the Scottish Executive's own ICT shared service offering, "Scots Connect", aimed at Agencies and NDPBs
• working to integrate a range of social care, health, education, housing and justice applications to interface with the National-Agency store

The first of these initiatives has resulted in over 150 Public Sector staff being engaged in the widest ever structured dialogue around issues and opportunities offered by shared services. The second offers tangible shared services benefits to a growing number of Agencies and NDPBs who are delighted with the service they receive.  The third makes the prospect of tragedies such as child deaths while under Child Protection Orders, less likely.  The National Multi-Agency store provides a means by which the various professionals involved in care can share their knowledge and more easily see the bigger picture.
