Logica to provide HR Administration & payroll service on Oracle HCM Solution
Logica, a leading IT and business services company has been awarded a contract with Channel 4 to support their employees with an outsourced HR administration and payroll service for the next five years. Channel 4 made the decision to outsource its HR administration to Logica as part of a company-wide programme to reduce costs and streamline its operations. The contract builds on an existing 17 year relationship with the company.
Under the terms of this partnership, Logica will implement Oracle’s payroll application and integrate it with the company’s existing Oracle HR system to achieve a single and unified HR systems solution. Logica will also manage the transition from the current bureau payroll service it provides to Channel 4, to a fully managed service. The new contract will also see Logica manage approximately 25 of Channel 4’s transactional HR processes such as joiners & leavers, employee changes and absence administration.
The implementation was phased over several months with the service going live in April 2009. Benefits include:
· Cost savings and increased efficiency through more automation across HR and Finance
· Minimal upfront investment and switching fixed costs for variable costs
· Single source for employee data, reduced duplication of effort and manual intervention
· Comprehensive reporting to facilitate better employee information
· Leverage existing investment in Oracle HR and fit with future technology strategy
· Scale service up or down quickly to cope with changing business dynamics
Commenting on the contract Gemma Dowson, Senior IT Project Manager at Channel 4 said: “Logica has a proven track record in delivering new and innovative ideas to improve our processes and achieve greater efficiencies that align with our business and technology strategies. We believe that with Logica’s consistent level of support and delivery we will achieve our business aspirations and look forward to further strengthening our relationship.”
Commenting on the new contract, Patricia Taylor, Director of Logica’s HR and Payroll business in the UK, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Channel 4. This partnership demonstrates the trust that our customers continue to place with us in being an extension of their company”.
Taylor added: “Within the current economic climate, it is essential that clients can depend on service providers to deliver the flexibility in the way services are procured and financed. Our pay-as-you-go model is designed to provide a rapid return on investment for our clients, particularly when we can leverage their strategic enterprise platform, in this case, Oracle.
This helps them see a clear business case to continue to invest in those areas that help them get the best out of their most valuable asset – their talent.”
Logica provides payroll outsourcing and HR services to more than 850 organisations, across a range of platforms including SAP, Oracle and the company’s own developed solutions. This latest contract follows other recent HR & payroll outsourcing contracts with KPN, Martinair and PwC.
