Team Excalibur selected by Ministry of Defence

20 October 2009

Logica, a leading IT and business services company, and MASS, a Cohort Group company, are pleased to announce the selection of their Team Excalibur for one of two Defence EW Centre Improvement Programme (DEWC IP) Planning and End to End Demonstration (PEED) Phase contracts.

DEWC IP is a strategically important programme for the UK MOD. Its objective is to ensure front line forces, fighting in increasingly complex environments, are provided with assured, up-to-date and accurate Electronic Warfare data products from the Defence EW Centre (DEWC). The provision of assured EW data forms a fundamental part of the MOD's ISTAR strategy; it is essential for effective platform protection; it underpins situational awareness and it enables operational spectrum dominance.

Ed Jones, Managing Director of Logica Space and Defence said "Both Logica and MASS are recognised as experts in this highly specialised domain and have many years of experience working with the DEWC. I am delighted this has been recognised in our selection for this important programme. Over the next six months we are committed to working with the MOD to demonstrate an end to end solution and to produce the supporting documents necessary to achieve Main Gate approval".

Ashley Lane, Managing Director of MASS added "We are very pleased to be given the opportunity to deliver a step change in EW Operational Support capability to the DEWC. We believe that our background knowledge and investment in this domain provides our team with the necessary foundations to be able to deliver a world-class solution within challenging time and cost constraints while also satisfying the customer’s vision for DEWC IP”.
