Logica awarded framework for Automated Meter Reading (AMR) by Buying Solutions
Framework to help drive compliance with the UK Carbon Reduction Commitment
Logica, a business and technology service company, has announced that it has been awarded a framework for Automated Meter Reading (AMR) and Associated Services by Buying Solutions, the national procurement partner for UK public services. This arrangement supports the recently enacted UK Carbon Reduction Commitment – Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC-EES) legislation, which demands that organisations can prove they understand, and can predict and manage their energy consumption.
Buying Solutions has put in place a framework for Automated Meter Reading (AMR) and Associated Services that makes it easy for organisations to procure the services they require to save money, reduce energy use and ensure an organisation is compliant with the government’s scheme. Not only does the scheme offer significant financial benefits to those organisations that comply, but it also imposes civil and financial penalties to those that do not adhere to the new legislation. All participants in the scheme will be evaluated and ranked on a number of metrics. These rankings will be made available to the general public online and through the national press. The league tables will begin to be published in July 2011.

Buying Solutions is the national procurement partner for UK public services. It was established in 2001 as a result of the Gershon Report, through a merger of the procurement functions of the Buying Agency and CCTA. We are an Executive Agency of the Office of Government Commerce in the Treasury.
