DB Schenker renews outsourcing contract with Logica
Logica, a business and technology service company, has been selected to deliver IT services to logistics group DB Schenker in Sweden as part of a renewed outsourcing agreement. Moving to Logica’s standardized infrastructure services, DB Schenker obtains higher quality, easier management and a more cost efficient IT environment.
Having been an outsourcing partner of DB Schenker’s for several years, the new four year agreement industrializes Logica’s delivery into standardized IT services. The new agreement covers infrastructure and application management technical, communication services, service desk as well as desktop management for approximately 2 700 of DB Schenker’s employees. In addition, Logica will manage printing and information logistics services, such as archiving, EDI and scanning for DB Schenker.
”Standardized services are the basis of a high quality and cost effective IT environment and they are a prerequisite for our taking full advantage of Logica’s mix of on and offshore delivery. We have very good experiences from having worked together in the past and we wanted to continue together with Logica when the current outsourcing contract came to an end”, said Stig Broberg, Deputy CIO, Schenker AB.
As part of the outsourcing agreement DB Schenker has had great flexibility to scale their IT capacity according to need. Moving to modular standard services they will be able to further tailor the service level to how business critical each application is.
