Systems Integration
Defending your country is a complex job. It can involve knitting together offerings and systems from many different sources, contractors and suppliers to create a seamless defence capability.
And all those systems must be integrated, so you can see the bigger picture. You can’t be wedded to a single approach. You need to be able to work with many different partners. We know, because we’re one of the most effective systems integrators in the business.
We’re independent from all the main defence contractors, so we believe in picking and choosing the best options from everything available – not just in our country but, if it’s appropriate, from around the world. And because we’re also heavily involved in fast-moving commercial IT markets and communications applications, we bring our experience of civilian innovations to the defence world.
The result: costs, risks and the time taken to integrate systems are all minimised.
We take a long-term view of defence systems integration, which allows us to provide solutions that are not only safe, secure and thoroughly tested in the short term but are also flexible, so they can develop as new processes, procedures and applications are introduced.
You’ll find many examples of our systems integration work for the Ministry of Defence, including the Fire Control Battlefield Information System Application (FC BISA), the advanced, safety certified, distributed command and control system. Watchkeeper, the unmanned air vehicle programme that gives UK armed forces an essential Intelligence Surveillance Target Acquisition & Reconnaissance (ISTAR) capability is also one of our projects.
