Training
Equipping the armed forces properly doesn’t stop at providing the kit they need.
Your people also need to be given the knowledge, training and skills to be effective, so they can deal with everything that’s thrown at them – from programme, project quality and supply chain management to logistics, acquisition, IT, intellectual property issues and, of course, leadership.
For more than ten years, we’ve delivered this training through the MoD’s Acquisition Learning centre (formerly DPMT) as a managed service. And because we live in a digital world, we complement traditional classroom training with e-learning.
Part of the MoD Defence Academy, Acquisition Learning delivers 20,000 delegate days of training and 10,000 days of e-learning to more than 9,600 recipients every year. We also design, develop and maintain the portfolio of more than 70 courses.
In a separate contract, we manage the delivery of more than 75,000 e-learning days for MoD staff around the world. The MoD describe our services as “a prime example of successful partnership… with Logica providing a fully managed training service to support the department’s drive for continuous development of skills and behaviours.”
BAE Systems use us, too. Following a competitive tender, in April 2005 they chose DPMT to develop and deliver a foundation training programme. We were delighted to be given a 2007 BAE Systems Chairman’s Award in recognition of our efforts.
We also deliver more than 130 management and IT courses to MoD personnel through 32 Defence Electronic Learning Centres (DELC) and the Rapid Reaction DELC service, which provides technology used on operational service.
