Central Government
Transformation is the name of the game for central government services – and our central government team has been behind some of the biggest changes in the way that this country is run.
All taxpayers want quality, value, convenience and security from our government services and that’s what our team of 200+ experts delivers. It’s useful to have more than 40 years of commercial experience to draw on, as well as extensive insight into what makes a modern state function – and how it can operate more efficiently and cost-effectively, with initiatives such as smart working, personalised services and green projects.
Perhaps the best way to demonstrate what we can do for you is to mention a few examples of what we’ve done for clients including government departments, agencies, NDPBs (Non Departmental Public Bodies) and some charities. Here’s a taster of how we’ve worked together in areas as diverse as outsourcing IT, HR and payroll, knowledge management, identity verification, security and finance.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has made the most of our experience in secure travel documentation – we were part of a biometric passport project in the Netherlands and introduced an e-passport in the Czech Republic – to bring in British Identity Document Generating Equipment, which generates a faster, more secure emergency travel document. Effectively, this is an emergency passport. We’ve also worked together to deliver secure global communications for an audience that ranges from the public in the UK and overseas to foreign governments and media.
For the Health and Safety Executive, we provide full IT outsourcing services, including application software, an efficient payroll system, a computer centre and a document management system. We’ve delivered more than 150 different projects and more than 50 business consultancy assignments so far.
At Citizens Advice, we’re running desktop services, hosting and case management and rolling out new IT systems. More excitingly, we’re involved in their plans to take the service beyond traditional face-to-face meetings, so more people can get the benefit of their expertise.
We’ve been working with the Office of Fair Trading for ten years as their strategic supplier of IT services. These include application development and support for all their key services.
Companies House uses us, through our relationship with Pitney Bowes, for all its print and mail services, delivering to more than two million companies.
And when you fill in the 2011 census, we’ll be responsible for overall security as part of a consortium that will deliver and process this crucial data on behalf of the Office of National Statistics.
