Logica lands first prize at Network Rail's Partnership Awards

15 July 2011

Logica has been awarded IT Partner of the Year at Network Rail's Partnership Awards at the Natural History Museum, London this week. The awards reward and recognise excellence and best practice amongst organisations that work with Network Rail to help Britain run more effectively.

Logica picked up the prestigious IT Partner of the Year award for its work with Network Rail on its ERP system. Logica implemented an Oracle supply chain solution, the largest and most complex ERP deployment undertaken by Network Rail to date. Three thousand users are now live on the system, enabling lean and standardised business processes for order and project management; inventory control; forecasting; purchasing and payment.

The system has helped Network Rail make considerable savings in operating costs and will allow stock levels to be driven down by around 30%. This better planning and use of inventory is expected to save National Rail around £20m over a three to five year period.

Stephen Armstrong, Head of Sourcing Policy and Governance at Network Rail said; “Logica’s award winning implementation has enabled us to provide a more efficient, controlled and transparent supply chain operation. It is also helping to ensure a better service to the front line where it can really make an impact on achieving our objectives for railways in Great Britain.”

Paul Muscat, Managing Director of Transport and Commercial at Logica said; “We are very proud to have won this award. Knowing that our efforts and expertise have been recognised and commended by our client and that we’ve helped to create a more efficient service demonstrates the real value technology can add to a business.”
